  • Greens renew push for energy target changes
    .The Greens are making a fresh push for changes to the Federal Government's renewable energy target scheme, saying it is blocking investment in large-scale projects. They will introduce a Private Members Bill when Parliament resumes next month to change the way energy efficiency measures such as solar hot water and heat pumps are treated.     .The Prime Minister's nephew has reportedly been fined for inciting a riot after he dressed in Ku Klux Klan attire and protested outside the Australian Open tennis tournament at Melbourne Park. Van Thanh Rudd, an artist notorious for bold public statements, and another man were taken away in a police van.     .Immigration Minister Chris Evans says the Federal Government remains committed to its immigration detention policy despite concerns raised by this year's Australian of the Year.
